Advance America releases statement on short-term lending comment period
SPARTANBURG, S.C., October 10, 2016 - Advance America issued the following statement related to the end of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) public comment period for its proposed rule on short-term lending:
"Public input is a vital part of the rulemaking process. The CFPB has acknowledged that it has already received more than a half a million comment letters - a groundswell of consumer input that will grow beyond that figure and far exceed the volume involved in any recent government rulemaking. We are encouraged to see that so many Americans are weighing in, calling for the Bureau to preserve their access to credit and urging it to allow their perspectives to inform the final rule."
