Methodology: This study surveyed 3,004 U.S. respondents to determine each state’s favorite independent supermarket for affordable grocery shopping in 2025. The sample was designed to ensure a balanced representation across age, gender, and geographic region, reflecting the diversity of households nationwide. To uphold statistical accuracy, the research employed a two-step process: stratified sampling to capture demographic variation, followed by post-stratification weighting to align results with national population benchmarks derived from internal data sources. Conducted in October 2025, the study reveals where Americans are finding value, freshness, and trusted service in their local grocery stores during a time of rising food costs.
