Circles Never End

I would like to thank my sister for always being there for me. I dont think Katie really knows just how much she means to me. As children she and I fought, bit, yelled, screamed, and annoyed each other to no end. We would call each other every name under the sun, bicker and antagonize each other. I can remember sneaking into her room and using her chapstick that she refused to share with me or attempting to use her spiral art kit without her knowing. We went through phases of hating each other and playing with each other. As we began to grow and change through our teen years, we realized that we actually did like each other and that we actually got along more than anyone else. Highschool ended for my sister and she moved away to college, but we grew closer still. I would have never guessed that Katie would be my best friend.
Now that we are adults with our own families, I am even more grateful for who Katie is in my life. Not only is she my sister, and best friend, but she is my main line of support. She had the kindess in her heart to invite myself and my children to live with her family in a small two bedroom apartment during my husband's long 7 month deployment to Iraq. She was there for us emtionally, physically, and financially. She of course did not even ask for a dime during those emotionally draining months. She was there for me when I hadn't heard from my husband in weeks and needed a way to not think about what he was missing in his kids' life. She was there for me to cry on her shoulder, bathe my children when I needed a break, and brighten my day with her smile.
Although my husband has now returned from several deployments and we currently live 10 hours away from each other, I feel like I am closer to her than ever before. I know i can never repay her for all the generousity she has given me, I hope she knows that she is part of my everything in life.
I once found a poem that is now my moto,
"write the names of the ones you love in a circle because hearts can be broken but circles never end."
I sincerely believe that Katie is not only in my circle, but she has helped me create my circle. I want her to know that she will forever be in the center of my circle. I love you!
