The Man Who Can Handle Anything
My husband is a strong man both physically and emotionally. When we first started dating he was going through a separation from his first wife. They had married very young and had a daughter. As with a lot of young marriages they had problems. Late in their marriage his first wife had some heart problems and underwent a heart transplant in her early twenties. Both were still very young and with a small child it was hard. They were having marital issues as well as her health issues to deal with. He made sure that everything was taken care of during her illness even though their relationship was tattered. After she was well she filed for separation. This really broke his heart. It was hard to just visit his child and have to take her home and leave again. A few months later, the day after Thanksgiving, she had a massive heart attack and died. His three year old daughter watched as the medical personnel worked on her mom trying to revive her. My husband rushed to the hospital to find out that it was too late, she was gone. He was now left with a young daughter to raise on his own.
He has done so many other things to help people who have lost loved ones. His, our, daughter is now 14. She is healthy and full of love and life. My husband has helped friends and relatives during hard times in their lives. He is someone who can say, “I truly understand". He is a man who I strive to be like and to honor because of the struggles in his life and his ability to find the strength and will to move forward. He is a role model for our children and many others.
