Foster Child.
I have always wanted to be a foster parent, and until I married my current husband could not. I asked him and he agreed, but no special needs, no babies, and no teens. So I agreed. Everything went ok the first 2 years, then Alexis came along. They called me and told me they have a 5 year old but failed to tell me she was special needs. The first night we had her she made noises like an animal and would not sleep until I put her in a baby bed. My husband was not happy at all. She had been severly abused and was in diapers. She couldn't talk, eat with a spoon, drink with a cup, or anything else. Needless to say it has now been 3 years and we still have her. My husband has been great!! Most husbands would have shipped her back immediately, but not him. She weighed 20 pounds when we got her and now weighs 65. She can talk some, run, drink, laugh, and is a truly blessing to me and my husband. My husband is now my hero and I love him dearly!!
