Sisterly Love

In my life, there weren't many people that I could really depend on talking to when times of crisis occurred. I had a good life and was overly happy about everything, but when my parents divorced it tore my family apart and made me depressed. It wasn't only that, but many unfair and hurtful things happened throughout my life. One other thing in my life that caused a bit of a split between my family and I was my relationship with a half Caucasian and half African American young man. I loved him alot and would never break up with him just because my family believes that dating and marrying only within our own ethnic group was approved. Even my own mother said she'd disown me and wouldn't help "if" my boyfriend and I got married and he treated me badly. I was so hurt- my mother was so unfair. She's never met nor seen him before. When times like this occur, I go to my younger sister. Because we've gone through so many hardships together and have told each other all of our secrets, nothing's off limits. She's my backbone. If she wasn't here to support me like she's done for the past years, I wouldn't be alive today. I love her and am so happy that we're sisters and am able to share anything on our minds. She's not just a sister, but a friend that can always be counted on.
