Her name should be Kim the Great

My best friend and I wouldn't have made it all these years without one another. Together we have six kids and at one time or another we've both been single parents. She and I have helped one another out with free babysitting, food, a shoulder to cry on, and a friend to laugh with. What I have is hers and I know if she had something that I needed it would be mine. We have known each other since the first grade and we are now approaching 40 years old. I don't even really think of her as a

My Mom

Since the day I was born my mom has always gone above and beyond the call of motherhood. She always puts her 5 children and 2 grandkids first. She lends me money or watches my dog whenever I need it no matter how inconvenient it is for her to do, with no complaints whatsoever. I love her and she's my hero. I hope one day I can be even half the mother she has been to me and my siblings.

Mom Who is Always There

If it was not for my mother I would not even have this job. I have a 2 yr old son and 7 yr old daughter and my mom is my babysitter. She gets up every morning and waits for me to bring the kids and watches them until I get off of work everyday. Sometimes even longer if I have to pay bills or go to the grocery store when I get off. When my daughter was in school she would drive all the way across town to be at my house to pick her up when she got off the bus. With school starting soon she

Not who I expected.

You never know why people are in your life or why you see people passing by on a regular basis. You never know what those people are sent to do in your life. Just recently I had surgery and I wasn't be able to work or drive for a couple of weeks. A couple of days before my surgery, my mother came to stay with me to help me around the house. The day before my surgery I asked my mother if she had a ride set up for us to get to the hospital since she doesn't drive. She hadn't called anyone to

How You Have Affected My Life

To my Loving Husband,
You have made me a better person in so many ways. You encouraged me to go to college and make something out of myself. You show me that all things are possible if you have faith. You give me joy every time I look into your eyes. When I could no longer count on friends, family, or myself, I could always count on you. I love you so very much and I just want to say Thank You!

Aunt, Mother, and Best Friend

Words can't express how truly amazing my auntie is to me. She is my mother's youngest sibling. When my mother passed away nearly two years ago she stepped right in. She is that shoulder I use to cry on, that ear I need to listen to me when things are on my mind, and that friend I love to hang out with on the weekends. I am a single female with no children. All of her children are married and away. We are both single females and we are both afraid of thunderstorms so when the storms start rumbling

The Angel God promised

They say that God sends Angels to help you and I can say that is SO true. My Angel was Joanne. I had a failed business and lost everything, charge cards maxed out, no car insurance, cell phone was turned off, and an overdrawn checking account and $110 in my pocket. As I am coming home from work the motor in my car blew up. Having my car towed cost me $100.

I was done, I did not want to live anymore and all that was on my mind was “how am I going to do it?” I am a single Dad that is gay,
