My best bud Heather

My friend Heather is the best! She is always there for me and my family, from lending me money to just taking me for a drive and a coffee. She is also the resident manager at my apartment complex and always makes sure that everyone is safe and happy where we live and that everything we need gets taken care of. She is a huge animal lover and treats me with dignity, honesty, and respect. I am so thankful for her in my life and love how she makes me laugh. She is my very dearest friend.

A Mother's Love

Most people probably have good things to say about their mothers, as do I. It was not until I became an adult that I truly realized how much my mom scarified for me over the years.

My mom was a single parent of three children that worked two jobs most of my childhood. She did this to make sure I had the childhood that she didn't get to have. I had everything I needed and most things I wanted because of the long hours she worked.

When you're a child, things don't seem quite the same. When

AN ANGEL TO WATCH OVER US

MY MOM IS TRULY "AN ANGEL TO WATCH OVER US". SHE WAS A SINGLE PARENT STARTING AT AGE 15. SHE HAD FIVE OF KIDS AND DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL IN EIGHTH GRADE. THE JOB SHE HAD FOR YEARS WAS TENDING BAR DUE TO LACK OF EDUCATION. IT WAS ONE OF THE ONLY JOBS THAT DIDN'T TAKE MUCH EXPERIENCE. LATER, SHE WENT TO SCHOOL DURING THE DAY (TO BECOME A CNA) AND WORKED AT NIGHT TO FEED AND CLOTH ALL FIVE OF US. AS WE GREW UP AND ALL MOVED OUT SHE STILL WOULD DO WITHOUT HERSELF TO GIVE TO US AND OUR OWN KIDS.

My World

The one person, as small as he is that is there for me, is my one and only son. He may only be a baby, but to me he is my entire world. I believe that no one is fully ever prepared to have a child and that after the child has been born is when you realize that no matter if your ready or your not they are your life now; and everything you do is to help them grow and succeed and be happy and healthy. To be so small and yet to know exactly what to do and when to do it to make me happy just amazes

Little Feet, Big Heart

My four little grandsons, ages 1 1/2 to 6, are always there for me - not in a financial way, not in a physical way, not even in a spiritual way - but the unconditional love they give. The smiles and hugs all help keep a weary soul from sliding into a 'woe-is-me' zone.

The pictures they draw for me will never be auctioned at Christie's, but they are priceless to me. They adorn my walls and refrigerator and speak of the bond of a grandmother watching her future grow and develop into fine

Greatest Love

In 1999 I lost my mother. Ever since then my grandmother has been a rock in my life. At 83 she is a hardworking grandmother and great grandmother. When I need help she is right there for me and my children. She watches the kids, does laundry, and cooks them full meals when I am working. As a single mother working 2 jobs and attending school her help is needed. I Thank God that I don't have to ask, she just does it out of love.

My True Inspiration

My inspiration is my mother. My mother is not only my inspiration, but my hero and the greatest friend I could ever have. It might sound cliche to say one's mother, but my mom is truly an amazing woman. Ever since I was little my mom has always been a huge supporter in whatever it was I wanted to do. She would work long hours and I can still remember her coming home from work and cooking my favorite meals. She always made time for me no matter what and made the time that we spent together

This Is My Dad

There she stood, the little blond curly haired Shirley Temple look alike. Her little rosy cheeks shined as she looked up smiling at me as I entered the church yard. She grabbed my hand and said, "we've been waiting on you" and dragged me over to a tall, thin man covered in motor oil. "This is my dad," she said. Then she skipped off and left me there. I was a single mother with heart break and struggles. Plus, I had decided that I was fine single. My daughter and I were just "fine." The last

Because of You

My mom has always been an inspiration to me. She is always there for me in every way and in every situation. I look at her as my best friend as well as my mom. No matter what she is going through, in sickness or in health, she will set her problems aside to listen. So if she ever reads this, Mom, I would just like you to know its BECAUSE OF YOU I am the women that I am today. I love you and appreciate you in every way!

My Dad, My Hero

My story starts with a thankful heart. I would have to say I am one of the lucky ones to have such a strong, kind, and loving but firm Dad. My Dad was in my life from the start. It never mattered what came our way, or what happened in our lives, he was always there. I can't imagine life with out him. He is all I've ever known. He always worked, most of the times two jobs, and always took the best of care of my mother. Still today, with her illness, he is right by her side. He is a very faithful,
