New Young Fathers
Advance America supports New Young Fathers, a Lansing, MI-based program created to help new fathers become responsible men by helping them develop a good relationship with their children. New Young Fathers works to reverse the cycle of absentee fathers through workshops, educational DVDs and an interactive online resource at NewYoungFathers.com. One of Advance America's many contributions to the organization was a sponsored Family Fun Day in Lansing, MI, that provided many new fathers with the chance to enjoy a day of fun bonding time with their children.
Frameworks Community Development Corporation (Frameworks CDC)
Advance America has partnered with Frameworks Community Development Corporation (Frameworks CDC) in Austin, Texas to provide a series of ten free financial literacy workshops for families in local Section 8 voucher and public housing programs. The Austin Academy will also offer two of these workshops to its students, and similar free workshops are being developed with other partner organizations throughout the greater Austin area. In addition, Frameworks CDC is working with Huston Tillotson University to provide financial literacy training to entering college freshmen. Founded in 2004, Frameworks CDC works to expand opportunities available for low- and moderate-income families of Central Texas to obtain and sustain affordable housing. By providing financial literacy education and homeownership education and counseling, Frameworks CDC helps families prepare for homeownership and better manage their money and credit. The organization also helps families avoid foreclosure through foreclosure prevention counseling and by negotiating with lenders to help families keep their home.
Irving Branch NAACP
Advance America is proud to have sponsored a Financial Literacy Program through the Irving (TX) Branch NAACP. Multiple workshops were held in October and November 2011. The workshops served as an educational tool for participants from Irving to Garland, and covered the FDIC Money Matters Curriculum, which includes the topics “Borrowing Basics,” “To Your Credit,” “Money Matters,” “Financial Recovery” and more.
National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO)
NALEO represents political representation of Latinos in the United States and provides information on Latino leadership in all levels of government across the country. Its Naturalization Application Fee Loan Fund Program works to help with naturalization assistance and promotion, paving the way for the Fund to provide a greater number of Latino Legal Permanent Residents with critical financial resources and naturalization assistance (primarily involving the costs associated with naturalization applications and processes). The Naturalization Application Fee Loan Fund will help ensure that such newcomers with limited resources nationwide can indeed continue their journey towards full political participation and engagement in American civic life, two factors that contribute greatly to the quality of life for Latino non-citizens eligible to naturalize in the United States.

Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation
This organization was created to provide disadvantaged and minority youth with educational opportunities through scholarships and internships, to foster partnerships with corporations, and to stimulate economic and social growth within African-American communities. It gives out the annual DeVerne Calloway Scholarship, sponsored by Advance America and named after the first African-American woman elected to the Missouri legislature in 1962. Our sponsorship also helps make possible the foundation's Annual Youth Leadership Conference, which educates minority youth about the importance of the legislative process and helps them to explore issues which have a significant effect on their communities and lives.
Spartanburg Soup Kitchen
