Letters: Favors Payday Loans

I have been reading recently the debate concerning payday lenders. Most recently the Sunday article by D. Lynn Devault of Alexandria, Va., who bought up some good points when advance payday services are not available and what happened in Georgia when they were banned due to efforts like those of CLOUT.
I would just like to say that they are a good source in emergency situations. In times when you have a day or two to pay allocated funds and won't get paid for another seven days, they are a good source. When the banks say no, payday lenders are a good source for short-term financial help. All things can be abused, but it is good to know that if needed, payday lenders are there. I say continue to make them available to those that need them. Compared to an overdraft at the bank, yeah!
